About Me

Hi! My name is Rachel Kalebu (she/her). I am passionate about collaborating with teens and adults in pursuit of mental wellness and healthy mental habits. As a woman of color I have seen many inequities towards many different minority groups. This has inspired me to seek change in my communities and strive to provide support for anyone who is struggling with these challenges and more. I believe that no one should struggle alone which is why my goal is to provide a space to process, learn and grow. Facing our issues may come with guilt, shame and the urge to avoid. I too have faced these emotions and feelings myself and that is why I want to be with you as you take steps towards a new life worth living.

Though I no longer work in schools, being a school counselor is something I hold close to my heart and it was an honor to be able to serve students and families that looked like me, while making a difference in my community. I have been inspired to continue working with teens and young adults of all backgrounds, as mental health needs rise and the need for therapist of color grows.

When I’m not working, I like to play Switch, hang out with my cats and explore new food, drinks and restaurants in Seattle with my partner. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest has been a blast and although we only get 3 months of sun, I love to spend it floating on a lake. I also like to practice mindful walks through West Seattle which is where I call home. Share your favorite restaurants with me!
